M.E. Awareness Week: The Grand Challenge
M.E. Awareness Week runs during May every year and offers many fundraising opportunities, including an invitation to take up Action for M.E.’s fundraising Grand Challenge (although you are of course welcome to take up the Challenge anytime!).
This Challenge asks you to take on the target of raising £1,000 at your own pace, through your own choice of fundraising activities, perhaps kick-started by one of our M.E Awareness Week suggestions.
Although a grand may seem an enormous goal, we are there to help you all the way, with tons of ideas in our step-by-step Grand Challenge Pack. Whether you’re looking for low-energy activities or want to organise a fundraising party or sponsored challenge, order your pack today. You needn’t take on the Challenge alone either. Why not get a Grand Challenge team together, with family and friends working as a fundraising committee?

Action for M.E. Founding President Clare Francis says:
'When I first got M.E., there was no information, no support, no research, and no recognition by many doctors that the illness even existed. I helped set up Action for M.E. in 1987 to address all this. We have come a long way since then, but much remains to be done. Please take up the Grand Challenge and help us towards our ultimate goal - a world without M.E.'
Clare Francis MBE, Grand Challenge Patron
Once you’ve reached your target you will receive a certificate and an invitation to a celebration reception at the House of Lords.

M.E. Awareness Week: What can you do?
Fundraising during M.E. Awareness Week is a great opportunity to increase understanding of M.E. amongst your friends, colleagues or schoolmates whilst raising vital funds for people with M.E. Why not do your bit by holding an M.E. Awareness Week event?
We’re suggesting that each day of the week focuses on a different fundraising activity, offering something for everyone. Whichever event you choose (and of course the actual day you hold your event on is up to you), we will send you everything you need – like fundraising advice, sponsor forms, balloons, collecting boxes and stickers.
